Project 2010, a product of Twenty Ten Media & Marketing (Registration #: 2005/123839/23), was launched in 2006 as a free service geared for companies, organisations and individuals who have a vested interest in the 2010 World Cup and the impact it will have on business in South Africa. Among our services, we provide around-the-clock coverage of South Africa’s preparations for the event.
Our electronic newsletter gives you all the news you need, without having to wade through the mass of information available on this major international event. Although each newsletter is brief and to-the-point, it offers the reader a link to the full source material if required. It is sent to key 2010 role-players around the world as well as government departments, businesses and the media.
In addition, we have a website (www.project2010.co.za) carrying all the latest news along with web exclusive stories. Since South Africa was awarded the rights to host the tournament, we have gathered and edited thousands of media reports from around the world relating to 2010. The result is a comprehensive archive which provides readers with the most extensive database available.
We also offer a section which provides a platform for political parties, the media and the public and private sector involved in 2010 activities to post their media releases. The site is updated several times a day, making it the most up-to-date media platform for the World Cup.
Project 2010 reports are published daily by Kick Off, SASoccer365, the Pan African News Agency and South Africa.info. Furthermore, we offer these products in German (www.news2010.de) to cater for German investors and business leaders who are assisting South Africa with its preparations. Our partners include Game Plan 2010 - former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Gary Bailey’s initiative to assist businesses with their World Cup preparations.
We strive to provide fair and accurate coverage of this country’s preparations for the event. And, at all costs, we avoid the hysterical Afro-pessimism which so often puts South Africa in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
In a nutshell, we are passionate about this country and confident that it can, and will, host the greatest World Cup in history. It’s a daunting task, but there’s no time like the present. So, join us on this extraordinary journey as we prepare for the final countdown to the 2010 World Cup.
